FIAM DIRECTOR GUEST AT MILANO ARCH WEEK
May 24, 2019
Milano Arch Week is the week of events dedicated to architecture promoted by Triennale Milano together with Politecnico di Milano and the Municipality of Milan, in collaboration with Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli and with the artistic direction of Stefano Boeri.
This edition is in close dialogue with the themes of the XXII Triennale di Milano Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival. Environmental sustainability, technological development, migratory phenomena, social transformations at the heart of Broken Nature are being, at Milano Arch Week, related to urban space and analyzed from an urban and architectural perspective.
Special guests at this edition are the Director armchairs in Robinia by Fiam, technical sponsor of the event. The Director armchairs: a combination of environmental sustainability, as mentioned above, and Italian design. In fact, the Fiam company is actively concerned with producing clean energy using an eco-friendly photovoltaic system, making responsible and increasingly careful choices and responsible production with low environmental impact. Speaking of Italian Design, considered a true status symbol, this armchair has its origins in ancient Egypt. It turns out that before hosting famous directors and movie stars and before becoming a passepartout as a dining chair indoors and outdoors, this kind of chair was used by officers of the Egyptian army. The production takes place entirely in Italy, with first quality materials, using certified woods and high resistance technical fabrics. Choosing Fiam's Director means being equipped for the most beautiful film of the summer, whether for domestic spaces or for fascinating furnishings in the contract sector. The frame is made of Robinia wood, a European wood of certified origin that guarantees high resistance in the open air and is characterized by the typical "chromatic aging" in which the colours, if the wood is untreated, change from light blonde to darker and grayer tones. Fabric upholstery in olefine or texfil, available in various colours. This outdoor chair is PEFC® certified attesting that the forms of forest management meet certain requirements of "sustainability".
