Spaghetti by FIAM: relax & style, an absolute must-have for summer 2021

Spaghetti armchair, echo of the legendary 60s, is back in many new colors. For summer 2021 it is re-proposed in new and vibrant POP colors, in a three-color version of yellow / orange / red and blue / light blue / white and in monochromatic shades that  range from bright green to the inevitable black and white optical versions. Seeing it again comes to mind Italy of 1960s, when the country was growing and holidays lasted a month. FIAM has reinterpreted it by launching a message of hope with Spaghetti” armchair.

That "deckchair" with its soft pvc rods,  even its name: "Spaghetti", refers to a symbol, if we want to say it is abused and yet unchanged, of a certain happy image of Italy. Let's go back to our Spaghetti deckchair, which has been produced for 50 years by Fiam in Ghedi, Brescia. Steel or aluminium frame (so in any case super light), anatomical backrest adjustable, but you know it well, by raising the armrests in 6 positions. And then, the folding footrest, on which to sit in a corner, well wrapped in the post-bathing "sponge", with focaccia for a snack. But do you really want to give up lying down properly? The novelty, having put aside holiday nostalgia, is that this summer the colour chart is decidedly pop. Obviously, Spaghetti also works great in the garden, by the lake, on the terrace, on the balcony; even if you're not on holiday, but that half hour of relaxation shouldn't be taken away from you.

A cult piece of Italian design is "Spaghetti" armchair, created by FIAM (Fabbrica Italiana Arredi Metallici). It has immediately become an iconic design object, taking us back to the legendary 60s. An historical moment characterized by a real change, through which the lifestyle passed to an unconventional version and the concept of relaxation was modified: thus the furnishing objects change, everything became more "easy".

"Comfort" becomes the watchword.

FIAM, THE HISTORY:

For about 50 years, FIAM has been giving the pleasure of living outdoor by producing and designing objects. Francesco Favagrossa, then a mechanic, began by collecting demolished motorcycles and reassembling everything, giving life to original “motorbike-patchwork”, usingthe technique of reuse. In 1975, Francesco and his two sons Ennio and Silvio, launched the first metal outdoor objects, through which he expressed his adherence to sobriety, minimalist taste and all that is essential. Distinctive features of the objects, maintained over time, which have inevitably attracted the attention of the design world. The highest expression of Made in Italy, FIAM quickly achieved important success and recognition, thanks to a low environmental impact production policy and special attention to product quality and details. The company from Ghedi (Brescia) has thus become an excellence of style, not only in Italy, but internationally.

"Spaghetti", the legendary garden relaxation armchair-lounger, entirely hand-woven and made with the characteristic PVC rod, is made with steel or aluminium frame, an anatomical backrest and a footrest that is retractable and adjustable in no less than 6 positions. Is this not the ultimate expression of comfort? An undeniable design object, entirely Made in Italy, exported all over the world for over 40 years. A cult object, a symbol of pure "Italianism", of (extra)ordinary design, of refinement. A simple masterpiece.

It is a way to focus on something pleasant, even if only for a moment, getting away from anxieties of life. You don't need to own a huge park to do this, even a small garden or patio is enough, and can be decorated with personality, taste and imagination.

Smart working goes on holiday

The term 'smart working' is now the talk of the town. It is a constantly changing way of working that can now be done anywhere, even in the nature. Let's talk about the office. First suggestion: stop using this word. Clean air, natural light, contact with environment... the computer is portable, let's use it.
