WHEN COMFORT BECOMES POP ART

 Spaghetti armchair by FIAM on show at  Mazzoleni Foundation "Andy Warhol and the New Pop" from 28th January to 29th May 2022, Villa Bertelli Forte dei Marmi

Spaghetti armchair, an unmistakable piece of 1960s Italian design history, now also takes part of the exhibition promoted by Mazzoleni Foundation in Forte dei Marmi. 
Spaghetti is the iconic relaxation armchair entirely hand woven in Italy and adjustable in 5 positions, which preserves the memory of the carefree Italian 60s, an historical moment in which the objects of use and furnishings have changed, adapting to a lifestyle more non-conformist than in the past. From that moment on, relaxation took on a modern connotation, a new, easy style far removed from formal, overly composed seating. Plastic becomes a design element of common use, able to interpret reality and the objects of living, like Fiam Spaghetti in this innovative context. 

Starting in 2019, FIAM intertwines the path of Spaghetti with the world of art, becoming part of the collection of the MoMa Design Store in New York, which has always selected vintage design objects and celebrated their particularity and revolution. To consolidate this collaboration, the idea of creating original and eccentric multicoloured and pop editions was born, conceived by Roberto Gatti, FIAM's executive director, in honour of the famous Pop Art. 
In order to pay homage to the essential creativity branded FIAM, from 28th January to 29th May 2022, Spaghetti Pop armchair will be on display at the exhibition "Andy Warhol and the New Pop" in the prestigious Villa Bertelli in Forte dei Marmi, an event organised and promoted by Mazzoleni Foundation, created with the aim of supporting the immense world of art, mainly Made in Italy, on a national and international level. 
With this initiative FIAM confirms its close link with the world of PoP Art, design pieces that become real works of art to be exhibited, admired and loved by a brand that is a symbol of Italian design in the world, a perfect synthesis of research, style and Made in Italy.
